A gift card that’s about to expire… An upcoming half marathon… What to do? I’m going to go and get a new running outfit! Now I know running a race isn’t a competition about who looks the cutest but I’m coming back from a tweaked IT band/knee pain problem so I’m not going to be the fastest runner out there but I can at least try to be the cutest. When I first started running, skirts were some what of a novelty item but now that running has become more mainstream, it seems that everyone and their grandma likes running skirts. And so many companies are in on the action – I found skirts made by Nike, New Balance, Under Armor and even The North Face to name a few. Then I came across an unfamiliar name, Lolë.
Happy belated birthday to the Oreo cookie! Who knew that little cookie has been around for 100 years? Well I didn’t. At least not until I spotted a bag of birthday cake flavored Oreos in my grocery store. I normally don’t buy Oreos because I’d end up eating the entire bag in one sitting. But the golden bag with the picture of the Oreo and it’s cream filled center decorated with sprinkles just caught my eye. And I thought I’d be stupid not to, so I bought a bag. For years, my mom would make us baskets filled with little Easter goodies and treats. She does this even though we’ve long passed the age of painting eggs and searching for chocolate around the house. Every year, we smile and say “Oh mom!” but secretly we love feeling like little kids and scarfing down chocolate. I mean, how many times a year do you really get to eat unlimited quantities of chocolate? (I think there are three chocolate related occasions but I’m not counting) So imagine our surprise this year when we didn’t get ANY baskets. Not a single chocolate egg or colorful jelly bean to be found anywhere in the house. My mom was so busy preparing for a potluck that we were left out. A chocolate-less Easter or so I thought.
