Runners, foodies and fans of Disney are going to want to take note of runDisney’s annual Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend.

The Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon is a 13.1-mile run through the beautiful Walt Disney World Resort. It will be held on Sunday November 6th, at 5:30 AM at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.

The weekend is capped off with a post-race party, which is going to be held at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival Sunday evening. At the party, guests are treated to over 30 global marketplaces, have access to Epcot attractions, musical performances, and best of all, character meet and greets.

The Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend is a whole new concept of races launched by Disney. Apart from the half marathon, there’s also Lumiere’s Two Course Challenge, and Mickey’s Holiday 5K. Even kids can participate in the race as there’s a runDisney Kids Races event. Bring the whole family along and have fun under the sun!

Disney races sell out quickly every year so interested participants should sign up with runDisney to receive updates and information on the different events and when registration opens to the public.

The Disney brand has always tried its best to cater to people of all ages, which is why it launched multiple runDisney races instead of one. Their dedication to making everyone happy extends not only to their movies and events, but in their products as well.

The renowned tourist hotspot Disney World isn’t just a place for kids, as it is being marketed as a holiday vacation for honeymooners as well.

Disney has games that specifically target kids-at-heart but it has made some drastic changes to its business in the last two years. When Marvel was acquired by Disney, the latter discontinued production of slot machine games in order to adhere to its “family-friendly” policy. Popular slots site Spin Genie, used to feature a slew of high profile Marvel games before Disney bought the rights to all the Marvel films and then slowly began pulling them from online and land-based casinos. However, Marvel’s arch-rivals DC Comics didn’t follow suit as the aforementioned entertainment platform still features its games such as the ultra popular The Dark Knight Rises title.

So, while Disney is still marketing itself to adults as well as kids, it’s clear that there are certain areas they have chosen to distance themselves from. They are instead opting for family fun ventures like the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend to garner the global brand positive mainstream media recognition.

At this year’s Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, participants will receive:

– A champion shirt for both men and women

– A commemorative medal for finishing the race

– Official program

– $15 Disney gift card

– iGiftBag

– Refreshments

– ChronoTrack B-tag timed race with tracking
