Is it really the end of August? The month has just flown by! It was a crazy month as I was busy training for the Midsummer Night’s Run and the hot and humid weather kept me out of the kitchen a lot more than I thought it would. What can I say? I wanted to be outside to take advantage of the fresh air and warm sunshine. I was really flattered this month when I was nominated for two blogging awards – Liebster Blog by Squirrel Circus and the Beautiful Blogger Award by Sticky Notes and Quotes. Go and check out their blogs and show them some love! And here are the questions/things about me:
Favorite quote, and why?
“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
The quote comes from A.A. Milne author of Winnie the Pooh which is one of my all-time favourite characters. I prefer the “classic” drawings of Pooh over the newer Disney version. I read this quote to myself whenever there’s something I feel I can’t do.
One thing about you that people wouldn’t assume by looking at you?
Cross me and I have a short temper.
Would you rather forgive something said about you or verbally lash the person who said it?
I think it would depend on what was said. I would try and talk to the person about it but most likely I’d just forgive and move on.
Something about you that makes you really proud
Finishing the Goofy Race and a Half Challenge in January (running back to back 1/2 marathon and a full marathon)
A single favorite book you wouldn’t mind reading twice or thrice. Why?
For non-fiction, I would pick ‘The Tipping Point’ by Malcolm Gladwell or ‘Kitchen Confidential’ by Anthony Bourdain. For fiction, I would pick ‘The Great Gatsby’ by F. Scott Fitzgerald or ‘A Fine Balance’ by Rohinton Mistry.
What’s that which you desire the most from life?
Good health and peace of mind.
Your favorite word. Yes, word.
Awesome!
Beauty comes from ______ ?
Within but a good makeup artist, hair stylist and wardrobe consultant won’t hurt either.
Five things that life is about.
Family and friends, having a good sense of humor, pushing your limits, having fun and being compassionate.
Words for you are?
Expressive and sometimes explosive
